Dear Parent,

Congratulations! Bringing your child to therapy is perhaps one of earliest and best interventions you can provide your child. The return on your investment will be life long. In counseling your child will learn coping skills to deal with the stressors of everyday life as well as particular situations unique to your child. These skills will assist your child throughout their life and help him/her/they lead happy productive and fulfilled lives.

Each session is tailored to the uniqueness of your child and their presenting problems. Through expressive arts, sand-tray, drawing, puppets, mask making, gardening, and play I will assist your child in developing positive ways to be in the world while expressing the essence of who they are.

It is my intention to develop a relationship with your child that fosters a sense of safety and mutual respect. The connection I develop with your child will be based on trust and understanding. I will demonstrate flexibility and competence in my skill and interventions. Your child will always be treated like a precious gem.

Your involvement in your child’s therapy process is crucial. I will communicate with you frequently and I may provide “homework” for you and your child to do together. I will meet with you separately at least once every six weeks to discuss your child’s progress. I may invite you and/or the entire family to attend a session with your child.

Areas of Practice

THERAPY FOR
CHILDREN

Play therapy is child therapy. Unlike adult psychotherapy, the treatment of childhood emotional, nervous and behavioral problems is conducted in the natural language of the child: play, play, play. Children are active problem solvers and learn about their world.

I offer a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore issues such as: anxiety, depression, life transitions, launching, conflict, lack of connection, loneliness, emotional regulation, and many others I have helped my clients with

THERAPY FOR
COUPLES

My work with couples is primarily informed from an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) model. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), founded by Dr. Sue Johnson draws on attachment theory as a new way of understanding adult love relationships.
